Radiology
The CT Scan service works 24*7 in the hospital. The experienced Radiographer and Technicians organize to hand over the results to the doctor in a very short span of time with accuracy. A computerized tomography scan (CT or CAT scan) can show the soft tissues, blood vessels, and bones in various parts of the body. A CT scan may be used to visualize the: head, shoulders, spine, heart, abdomen, knee and chest.
A CT scan has many uses, but it’s particularly well-suited for diagnosing diseases and evaluating injuries. The imaging technique can help your doctor:
- Diagnose infections, muscle disorders, and bone fractures
- Pinpoint the location of masses and tumors (including cancer)
- Study the blood vessels and other internal structures
- Assess the extent of internal injuries and internal bleeding
- Guide procedures, such as surgeries and biopsies
- Monitor the effectiveness of treatments for certain medical conditions, including cancer and heart disease
The test is minimally invasive and can be conducted quickly. CT scan results are considered normal if the radiologist didn’t see any tumors, blood clots, fractures, or other abnormalities in the images. If any abnormalities are detected during the CT scan, you may need further tests or treatments, depending on the type of abnormality found. The department is 24 hrs alert to attend all emergencies. An X-ray can help your doctor view the inside of your body without having to make an incision. This can help them diagnose, monitor, and treat many medical conditions. X-Rays are prescribed for the following reasons;
- Examine an area where you’re experiencing pain or discomfort.
- Identify various conditions such as bone cancer, breast tumors, enlarged heart, blocked blood vessels, conditions affecting your lungs, digestive problems, fractures, infections, osteoporosis, arthritis, needing to retrieve swallowed items.
- Monitor the progression of a diagnosed disease.
- To check how well a prescribed treatment is working.
There are some risks involved in getting an X-ray. But for most people, the potential benefits outweigh the risks.
Precautions Before an X-Ray
In most cases, you won’t need to take special steps to prepare for them. Depending on the area that your doctor and radiologist are examining;
- You may want to wear loose, comfortable clothing that you can easily move around in.
- They may ask you to change into a hospital gown for the test.
- They may also ask you to remove any jewelry or other metallic items from your body before your X-ray is taken.
- Always tell your doctor or radiologist if you have metal implants from prior surgeries. These implants can block X-rays from passing through your body and creating a clear image.

An ultrasound scan is a medical test that uses high-frequency sound waves to capture live images from the inside of your body. An ultrasound allows the doctor to see problems with organs, vessels, and tissues without needing to make an incision. Unlike other imaging techniques, ultrasound uses no radiation. For this reason, it’s the preferred method for viewing a developing fetus during pregnancy. An ultrasound can provide a view of the bladder, brain (in infants), eyes, gallbladder, kidneys, liver, ovaries, pancreas, spleen, thyroid, testicles, uterus and blood vessels.
An ultrasound is also a helpful way to guide surgeons’ movements during certain medical procedures, such as biopsies.
