Inauguration of ICU Ambulance

We have several experiences of patients who are in critical health condition waiting for hours to get the intensive care facility during transfer from one primary centre to a specialized centre. There were even patients from accident spots who died due to unavailability of critical care transportation. These situations lead to the thought on providing the conveyance of an ambulance with intensive care unit in the district of Wayanad. There were several patients in our own experience who waited for hours to make the mobile ICU available so that they reach the speciality centre with ventilator support along with medical staff assistance. Some have lost lives at accident spots due to the lack of critical care assistance.

Fatima Mata Mission Hospital has evolved with the need of the society in helping the critical care wherever needed. Thus with the assistance of Federal Bank CSR initiative, we were able to get the ambulance and it was then the requirement of an intensive care facility was spoken about. We understand that the requirement is not only for the hospital but for a vast area covering our need in various sectors. Thus the need was accomplished and an Emergency Care Coordination Team was set with training for all emergency needs. The team is all set to reach according to the need of the call.

The inaugural ceremony of the ICU Ambulance was organized on 28 Nov, 2018 at Fatima Mata Mission Hospital. Municipal Chairperson Smt. Sanitha Jagadish inaugurated the function by a flag off.
